About us
Tourism Association North Yorkshire
Tourism is a well-established
industry in Yorkshire. It is the largest employer
and a vital part of the local economy. It is
a very fragmented group of diverse businesses,
large and small.
There are many
issues, problems and opportunities that by working
together we can:
- Market the
area and ourselves effectively
- Strengthen
links with Ryedale District Council
- Have an effective
opinion on local and national issues
- Obtain reduced
cost services and products
- Evaluate the
effect of changes in legislation and provide
advice and guidance
- Lobby for legislation
changes
- Use our collective
strength to ensure that our opinions are heard
- Raise and maintain
the standards of quality in the provision of
services and facilities to visitors
- Reduce the
cost of advertising by collective purchasing
- Organise forums
and training sessions on relevant subjects
Membership exceeds
300 local operators ranging from the largest
multi-million attraction to the smallest B&B.
A diverse and dynamic mix of like-minded people
whose quality of life depends on the success
(or otherwise) of their business.
